Wedding Traditions: Wedding Vows

Increasingly less popular in weddings is any bride saying that she promises to "love and obey" her husband, and the husband promising to "care for" his bride.  This again smacks of the bride being property and subservient to her husband.  This isn't the way we're doing it.  We'll be writing our own vows and they'll mean a lot more than out-of-the-box recitals repeated by robotic brides and grooms at the behest of ministers.
