PROFIT EMPIRES!

There are businesses, and there are companies, and there are corporations. And then there are profit empires, big businesses that have gotten so big and make so much money that the IPL has a hard time keeping them in line. And the IPL has to try to keep a close eye on the profit empires, which often violate all manner of laws across the astroscape.

Profit empires usually specialize in particular things, but sometimes they own other profit empires that specialize in other things. The IPL works to ensure the profit empires stay in line and don't get so powerful that they become a threat to the IPL, its member nations, and the citizens of the astroscape.
